The hopeful glimmer in hopelessness; reflection, the good warrior, or: Martin Gut.

The complex, multimedia world of Martin Gut’s work seems unpredictable, but develops consistently along his artistic approach to life. Fragments and opinions of modern life are paradoxically assembled and brought into surprising, reverberating contexts of effect, whereby the poetry of the works does not come out of the retort, but arises in the condensing, artisanal work, in “thinking with one’s hands”.

In the spatial installations and performances as well as in the curating, mediating exhibition works, the artist’s concern reveals itself all the more to create situations holistically and past the quick object effect as well as the easy market, which form a sometimes ironic counterweight to our absurd real life, much less crazy than the world they come from.

We say, come by on Saturday and see what Martin Gut has worked on in a week at the Brünig Art and Nature Friends House. How he sees the place and what he makes of it. He’s been here for two days!

The vernissage will be followed by a talk with curator Bruno Schlatter about Gut’s work. Then we eat. Afterwards, Gut improvises with Schlatter, Vanilly and Berisha musically and lyrically.
