This is not a newsletter, we’ve probably had enough news for a while now. This may be my last newsletter, because so much is happening, so fast, always so fast, but why so fast? What about yesterday? Off to the woods and SCREAM! Ok, fine, but then I write down what I’m thinking beforehand and record the scream and after a while make a scream compilation with a booklet of the thoughts before each scream. Well, the beginning happened, whether it was successful is another question, after all, all beginnings are difficult, as Goethe already stated. But I’m not sure what he actually meant, because starting is actually quite easy, or is it? But presenting something to people for the first time is a lot harder and probably the hardest thing, because up to that point I have time to prepare for all eventualities. After that, the great confusion begins, unless I have thought of everything, if that is at all possible. Goethe probably meant that beginning.
Who threw the first stone? Is man allowed to throw stones at all? If he does it anyway, how do we stop him? Why did he do it in the first place? Was he persuaded? Forced? No, such a thing is not possible. Would any person in this situation have acted in the same way?
But it doesn’t work without news, as brain researcher Gerald Hüther states, because our brain strives for a state of coherence and every problem, be it mental or physical, prevents us from reaching this state or keeps us busy until we have reached it. That is why it is good to work, because then we are trying to reach this state of coherence. In the evening, we prepare for a big break, but quickly realise that we can’t really take a break and look for answers on the internet, where we only find more tasks. Well, well, the Garden of Eden has been explored for a long time and that we want to go there all the time has also been clear for a long time. That this most ardent human desire is misused or used to move or change us is something we like to forget, perhaps most of all. Because then we would only buy what we really need, not watch Netflix and live a life like Epicurus suggests. But exactly this way and only this way, not even turning off the head with substances from outside, no, only this way, leads us to peace and contentment in the head and finally in the whole body.
An easier way to achieve this goal is, for example, to do what is suggested, because those who suggest it mean well with me. After all, most people do it and the majority see it that way. Do they though, really?
With the survival of the fittest, Darwin did not mean that the fittest or the most adapted survive, but rather those who are best able to deal with change and constantly practise it. Unconsciously we know this and that is why we are looking for this state of coherence. That’s why we try to understand what’s going on, to be prepared for every possible situation and to finally reach the state of coherence in order to save energy or, in other words, to be satisfied, which is the real goal of all being. Because, if we don’t know what we have to adapt to, we can’t be adapted or even be ready for the change. That’s why everyone wants to be the jack of all trades, to have the right food for every situation, and because everyone needs this, we can make good money with it and prepare ourselves for other eventualities, or buy, train, etc. for other eventualities.
Oh yes, then there is another task or problem that evolution has equipped us with, or rather a human characteristic that has established itself as helpful, namely that our front part of the brain no longer works under stress and thus the usual thinking does not function. Thinking is hard, which is precisely why many don’t like to think. That’s indeed the case. Don’t let thoughts circulate in your head, but try to understand connections, etc. Imagining the most beautiful and the worst, asking oneself whether the desired future can still be achieved, if not, then how? This thinking does not have anything to do directly with the now, because we can only think like this when the now is secure. That’s why, when there is danger in the forest, it doesn’t occur to us to run away, we just do it. This action is stored in our memory when we see a bear, for example. It takes a while before we can think clearly again. If we have many such situations or if we only live like this, then after generations our brain becomes like the brain of a hare or a deer. Our brain is a development of our security. The fire kept the danger at bay and we could plan the next hunt in the warm. Intelligence in English means surveillance. The best way to think about it is in a Roman bath or comfortably in the shade on Crete with a view of the Mediterranean. We have reached the point where we can achieve this state anywhere. But somehow we still push each others buttons every now and then. Why?
What do we do with people who think that the others are responsible for their state of coherence?
Before the Corona crisis I wrote this song and the pandemic and the new new normal – which is as old as perception and is just called new new new – show it a lot better. Back then I just wanted to show you, us here in the West, how the world is. No one wanted to hear it, not even now. Because thinking is difficult. But if we don’t do this, we will have to run away from the bear later, unless we prepare ourselves and learn to live with the bear. Because the bear is also allowed to live and we should never have put it in the zoo and almost exterminated it. And actually, we’ve been living with the bear for so long that we know he’s happy to have good neighbours and will forgive us but only if we respect each other. Our old, seemingly lost world was only so beautiful because we were not disturbed by our usual happiness hormone surges. Who knows, perhaps without this disturbance we would not have believed, respectively seen, respectively felt the new New Now. And it wouldn’t exist either, just like the reality I wanted to show back then, which was true but no one perceived, because jack of all trades satisfied us completely until he couldn’t trade no more. In any case, we now believe the fictitious fear of the bear more than that of the pandemic, because we believe that the honey of the bear belongs to us and that we can continue trading with what’s not ours. Just as we thieves helped ourselves in Constantinople or Jerusalem back then.
Only I myself can enter into the state of coherence. We stand for life, that is, for peace. We are against any power that exploits it. We are not blinded by the limelight but seek the path to the source. With two opposing positions, respect and empathy are crucial.
